I absolutely love Japanese Fashion, especially the cosplay and the streetwear. The style is so quirky and eccentric, it pushes me further and further out of my boundaries, creatively. A lot of the inspiration for my upcoming designs will be from this as it's the most individual as well! I can't wait to get started with these lovely things.

Small Space Home Offices

Since moving in, I've constantly been thinking about how I'm going to create a home office in my bedroom... it is quite small, so I don't have a lot of space to play with, so i've been trawling the internet for ideas as to how to reorganise it, but making sure that it has the right balance of home and work life :).

Sometimes, you just need a simple table, and I love how simple this one is; you could really make something as simple as this a great place to work by choosing the right pieces to go with it. :).

I have got an in built wardrobe, which I think could easily be turned into an office, but I'm claustrophobic, so it won't be such a great idea!

 

I love this idea. Although I can't actually put shelves on the wall, but it would be good to have a shelf, and have a desk next to it, so that I could alternate the use of tools I would be using for my sewing or jewellery making.

Again, this is a great idea- simple but useful :). I think I may even need to keep it simple and just opt for a nice desk, drawer and shelf. 

 

I totally need a  cork board for sure! It would be cool to have the inspirational pieces from current trends always on display so I'm always inspired.

Can't wait to start buying new things now!

I love this shop. It is exactly what I would like my shop to be; a gorgeous mix of quirkiness, edginess and bohemian!

I just love how freespirited the clothing is, and I'd love to get the styling like this once I become confident enough to take my own photography and create an awesome lookbook. :)

Much Love Mondays: Bits and Bows

I have admired this lovely lady's shop for the past year or so, and i'm still in love with her lovely designs. I really think Sarah's entrepreneurial spirit is amazing, and is so inspirational to me; she makes me wanna keep pushing my business forward :).

Reading her previous post has reminded me so much of what I need to do with my clothing and jewellery.

Studio Decor Inspiration.

I am in love with bohemian styles, even within my designs... and since I am in the redecorating/re-organising mood, it's nice to have some ideas as to characterize my studio space so it would entice me to stay up there more and sew some cool things for my shop.

I cannot wait to get stuck into all this, although it would be hard because my studio is in the attic, it is sooo awkwardly built, BUT I do love a challenge! I'm excited as to how it would turn out! :)

I loved the way that the accessories and jewellery were displayed, this has really given me an idea of how to display mine in the future! I'm overly excited, so I will calm down now. :)

I am feeling inspired.

Lately I have had one of those days where I had so much things I wanted to do, but I have either self-doubted myself, or I haven't had any motivation whatsoever.

But today, I read about this amazing designer, called Gussy Sews, on Kyla's blog (which is one of my favorites), and I felt some kind of epiphany...

I felt like I could somewhat relate to what she was saying. She, like me, didn't know what she was doing when she opened her shop, and a lot of her ideas were self taught, and now, because she researched into her interests, and she worked hard, she is awesomely successful. I dream to be this much successful, and I really do feel like I need to work harder on my shop, because I have had it open for two years, and I really want to push it further, and make it just as successful. I have to start working a lot harder and 'keep it moving', in the sense that I know that if I keep myself motivated, and keep dreaming big, I will be where I want to be. :) I'm sure every designer/maker has been in my position, and its whether or not people have the courage and motivation to pursue their dreams that it will actually come true.

I'm not underestimating my efforts or anything, because I have grown a lot with my designs, and I am making a more regular income, I just need to get off my behind and do something. I have made a business plan and everything, so I'm hoping that I can keep looking at it, and make more targets.

I am also going to attempt to exercise, as I feel like I've become more lazy! If I exercise more, I'm sure this will help to make me more pumped up! :)
