STYLE IT UP: HANDMADE BY IFY CARDIE

It's been a good couple of years since I've done an outfit post, but I'm excited to do it again! I wore a thin, orange cardigan, with my Primark skirt and boyfriend t shirt, and teamed it with my African headscarf, Charity Shop necklace and Doc Martens. It's so nice and comfy to wear, and you can dress it up or down, and it's light enough to wear during the summer months, but comfy enough to wear during the winter months too! 

I think the cardigan makes the outfit that much more better and makes it more unique.

Latest shenanigans: New clothing, accessories and team members!

     



      

I have finally been customising clothing again! :) I have missed sewing and stuff, so I have been chucking studs on EVERYTHING, haha! I also treated myself to an iPad, which I am totally excited about, because that means I can keep you guys updated more on the latest news! I have literally been playing about with my iPad since I bought it- best purchase ever, me thinks! Also, I have finally got myself a new team member for Handmade by Ify!

 My friend Gina from work does PR at Uni and wanted to help out with running the business, which obviously would benefit both of us, because I have no time for blogging or social media, so it would be great to have an extra pair of hands! My other friend Rachael is also helping out, which is awesomeeee. I can't believe I have such good people in my life who actually wants my business to boost as much as I do- I feel so lucky! :)

   

   

I'm introducing collar clips to the shop! They are soooo cute and uber quirky! I recycled them from old buttons and made them into the most awesome accessory to have. They jazz up any shirt and makes an outfit more exciting, whether it is day or night wear.

    
   

I have also been creating textiles jewellery again! I was inspired by the festival themed display at Topshop in Westfield in Shepherd's Bush and thought, "it's time to make some amazing jewellery again and use up all my yarn!" I hope to create more in a few weeks too, and will be doing so all summer long in a variety of colours! They are all hand-dyed by myself and made from cotton yarn, so it's nice and durable too!






 

Inspiration: Deap Vally

Lately, I've been in love with cool band, Deap Vally. I just love the rebellious, "bad-ass" attitude that they give, and I quite love their fashion sense, because they remind me so much of Thelma and Louise, and it's quite vintage inspired, so even what they wear is quite unique. A few pieces from my upcoming jewellery collection have been inspired by them too, as I'm taking a more grunge, vintage inspired direction with some of the pieces I'm making :).

I know it's that time of year, when everyone is going mad, frantically shopping for last minute presents for christmas and stuff... trust me, I'm often guilty of this, especially because most of my presents are from the internet. However, just to make sure you all get your presents ON TIME this year to give to your loved ones this year, please read on to avoid disappointment!

The last dates for delivery from the UK are as follows:

 UK deliveries:

18th December- 2nd Class/ Recorded Delivery

20th December- 1st Class/ Recorded Delivery

22nd December- Special Delivery

International:

5th December- Asia, Australia and New Zealand

7th December- Africa, Caribbean, Central America, Middle East, South America

10th December- USA, Canada, Eastern Europe

12th December- Western Europe

If you are buying anything made to order from my shop, feel free and stick to the dates... but with anyone wanting to get anything made to order, then you are free to do so until 30th November for International orders and 10th December for UK orders - after this date is absolutely no exceptions!

All pieces are gift wrapped before delivery too, but if you want the item wrapped in christmas paper, please let me know, and I'll do that for you, free of charge.

New clothing for sale!

So, I have stocked up on the shop recently, I know some people have been wanting to see more clothing, as I have stocked up on jewellery a lot in recent months, which meant that 70% of my shop was based on jewellery and I want it to be an equal balance. :) However, I have been slowly getting rid of some pieces that haven't been selling/not representing the shop as well as I could, and so, on Wednesday, the shop will be fully stocked with lots of cool things quirky and cute!

This season, I'm trying to keep the fun clothing, but adding the extra comfort I think we will all need this winter, and also complimenting the jewellery already in the shop! 

Shop Updates

I have finally sewn up some new clothing for the shop! It's been a while since I have done this, I have been so pre-occupied with jewellery and stuff that clothing has taken a bit of a back seat lately. I'm aiming to balance the jewellery/clothing ratio in the shop, so I'll be slowing down the jewellery build up and adding more clothes!

I made these applique t shirts and tops to celebrate my quirky style, and the freespirited, rebellious, vibrant nature that I have always wanted to capture in everything I make- especially now it's coming up to my 3rd year in business.
