Arts and Crafts fair at Vibe Gallery, London

Hello lovely people, I have pictures from the fair from last week!

Thank you to everyone who had visited me and my friends stall, it was so nice to see everyone :).

*these pictures aren't mine, but are from the vibe gallery page on facebook. I recommend that you 'like' this group, it's so fun.

Looking for some last minute decor for my table was CRAZY. Especially because I had little time because of the mad schedule I had for uni! I looked all around Farnham (where I study) and was looking for some bric-a-brac for the table; NO charity shops or craft shops had what I had in mind... then afterwards, I remember that I had wanted to get some cardboard cake stands from Sainsbury's, as I wanted to get them but at the time they were expensive... but these particular ones were £2.50 each- BARGAIN! :)

Here are my robot necklaces that are available on my etsy shop :)

This is my awesome friend Saxon's jewellery table! her jewellery ROCKS. They are so whimsical and hippie like, kinda like the alter ego of my business! I bought a friendship bracelet from her too, I haven't taken it off since ;) We're hoping to sell again together soon, whether it is at Camden or another Craft's fair. It was so cool to just get to know each other properly and hang out more. I'd love for her to get a website soon!

Here's me making friends! I met quite a few people, sooo fun.

I would recommend anyone who want's to get their work/designs out there to get involved, it's a great way to expose your business! :). Through this, I'm contemplating running some workshops! I never ever thought of doing it, but I enjoy helping people and I love ethical fashion, but when the curator suggested it, I haven't stopped thinking of ideas! can't wait to get started.

Much Love Mondays: The Cherry Laundry

I'm excited to write about this designer. I met Dan from The Cherry Laundry when I was selling at Camden Town Market last summer and he has become such a good friend to me, when I first saw his designs, I was really drawn to the quirkiness of the designs and the modernised vintage feel they had :).  I'm totally snapping up a piece! The prints are really distinctive, and you could wear this with any basic piece!

Here are my favourites:

These clothes are AWESOME! Well worth splashing your money on ;)

New Bangles!

I finally have gotten bangles in my shop!I have a variety of colours and all made from cotton, so it is very eco conscious :) I'll be listing some more jewellery tomorrow... but that will be the last time I'll be updating my shop regularly for a few weeks, as I have a ton of work to do that I'm kind of behind on, so please forgive me for being a bad blogger and business woman as of late!

I will be doing a giveaway in a few weeks to celebrate my end of project and education, so it means more goodness for everyone, woo-hoo!

Blogging for Confidence #01

I created this blog post on a whim, kinda after seeing this blog post last week... I recently got some bad feedback from my shop, and it's so hard to handle criticism... and when I received it, I really took it to heart, but I think that's the thing with running your own business on your own... everything is so hard to balance... and I think sometimes I need to learn to take the time to make products, rather than just pushing myself like I am a sweatshop... because I am just one person, and I CANT do everything!

I have been running my clothing line for like... nearly 3 years, and only about a year and a half I have been treating it like a business... and it's hard to be juggling this with Uni, and last year, I was working part-time on top of it.

I used to think getting negative feedback was almost like the end of the world or something, but as I've built up my store, I have grown to sort of use it as something to build up on and use it as constructive!

So, from now on, I have to slow down and take things at my own pace, and also just enjoy what I am doing, because I honestly haven't been enjoying juggling my last semester at Uni as well as running the shop... and I honestly have to make my education my priority, so I will add things to the shop when I can :). I have 5 weeks left of my final project and I want to make it count and push my full potential!

I am learning to be confident in myself to know that my designs are good, and people do love my clothing and jewellery, and I shouldn't stretch myself so thin.

Sorry for the rambling, but I hope everyone understands!

Much Love Mondays: The Lovely Teaspoon

I came across this awesomely quirky etsy shop through twitter, and as soon as I landed on this store, I immediately wanted to snap up a lot of pieces from there, and I probably will when I'm a little richer! I could literally see myself wearing a lot of things from her shop, and at the same time has provoked me onto wanting to create my own Jewellery line devoted to more quirky things! Stay tuned on that note... ;)

Here are a few of my favourite things from The Lovely Teaspoon:

Much Love Mondays: Plastic Bat Designs

Hey lovelies!

I'm writing about this wicked Jewellery line from Scotland, called Plastic Bat Designs. I saw her website through twitter, and I'm absolutely in love with her designs. It is the first time in ages since I felt like that about any jewellery these days, because a lot of designers these days don't 100% make their own designs, and that bothers me to an extent. With this designer, it felt like it was a unique experience going on the website, and I know for sure that I want this lovely work of art, as soon as my last ever student loan comes through!

Here are a few of my favourite pieces from Tracy's store:

DIY Fridays: Triangle Painting

Hello everyone, and happy Good Friday! :)

I was watching this programme on Damien Hurst and his kind of artistic journey, and the works that he made throughout, and I must say, I was extremely excited and motivated to do work, I actually went to Croydon to buy some paint and a canvas and started painting. Painting and pattern making are my biggest passions creatively, and this is something that has come so naturally to me. I hope you enjoy this DIY <3.

Here is what you need:

  • Set square/Ruler
  • Acrylic paint (you can choose as many colours as you like)
  • Canvas
  • Pencil
  • Flat edged and a thin rounded edge paintbrush
  • Paint palette/ card
  • Water Jar

1) Draw the outline of the triangle using the middle of the set square. If you are using a ruler, you could still do it, but make sure the measurements are accurate and the same throughout the canvas.

- you can rotate the pattern or keep it the same uniform way. I just wanted to be different ;)

2) Using your flat edged paintbrush, paint in your shape, avoiding the outline of your triangle.

3) With your round edge paintbrush, go over the edges. (I hope you have a more steady hand than me!)

4) using the other end of your paintbrush, dab in the colour in between the triangles.

You can do this for a few or as many sections as you like!

Ta-dah! This is what your painting should look like ;)

I hope you enjoyed this DIY :). Tune in next Friday for another DIY!

Outfit Post and DIY (Kinda)

Cardigan (once a Poncho): Car Boot Sale
T Shirt: Market Shop
Shoes: Car Boot Sale
Leggings: Primark
Necklace: Handmade by Ify

Hi Everyone,

It's been such a long time since I did a outfit post, and I have missed it, but today, I wasn't really bothered to go out for my post office run, and I was ready to just run out in my leggings and oversized jumper, and I saw my poncho that I bought yesterday, and I thought, "I don't think I would ever wear it like this!" and I did question what I was about to do, because this was quite a high end/designer piece, and although I only paid £2 for it, I didn't want to risk ruin it, but I bravely just took a scissors to them and now it's a cardigan!

I didn't expect to do this, so I have no pictures to show how I did it, but if you want to follow my lead, all you have to do is get any poncho that you have or can find on the cheap like I did, and all you have to do is to cut the middle section of it, and if you want, overlock/sew the edges :). If you have one of those knitted type ones I would just hand sew it using the overhand stitch.

I have new glasses, as you can see. I hated my old ones, because I didn't feel pretty in them to be honest, and I thought that a bigger frame would be such a better look for me! I was meaning to get a new one since October, but I somehow felt like I needed to wear the ones I had for a year to justify wearing new ones, because I hate that I wasted £150 on glasses that I wasn't really a fan of last February. So I got these from Specsavers, for £25, which was right up my street! I didn't like the women's cheap range so I just chose them from the Men's range online, which was even better because I get way too persuaded easily by those sales assistants, haha!
